Also, there are a few daily flights to Labuan Bajo with Garuda Indonesia. Moreover, there are frequent flights with Nam Air/Sriwijaya Air into Maumere and Labuan Bajo.
From Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang on Java Island and from Lombok, there is a direct flight link to Flores. In the support of Indonesia Jakarta, there are daily direct flights to Labuan Bajo (Komodo) with Garuda Indonesia, Batik Air (Lion Air) along with Citylink Air. Another airline that provides flights to Flores is currently TransNusa.
Last moment is difficult to estimate, you might have luck (particularly in the low season), but you can also unnecessarily pay too much. Or even all flights are fully reserved especially to Labuan Bajo (Komodo) in a full season.
Way To Ende Airport
In Ende Airport, there are currently only direct flights out of Timor (Kupang) and also Sumba (Tambolaka). From Bali, there are flights through Labuan Bajo to Ende airport.
Transport to Moni village
Pick up from the airport at Maumere or Ende, keep to Moni. In the airport at Maumere the travel takes 3.5-4 hrs and from airport Ende 1.5-2.5 hours. Don’t underestimate the distances on Flores Island!
The street conditions in Flores are – apart from the larger towns like Maumere, Ende, Bajawa and Ruteng – small. Only a paved road connects the East and the West of the island, and it winds through the mountainous areas. Landslides and broken bridges are not uncommon during and after. A trip with a privately chartered car (that makes you separate from the programs of these busses) in Maumere to Labuan Bajo in the West requires at least two days.
The local public transport is made up of minibuses, small busses and Bemos. The busses are amazingly jam-packed, and minibuses are often comfortable. There are no car rental agencies. However, you can rent a car.
